I've known Paityn and have been watching her dance ever since my daughter joined the same studio, Arizona Dance Artistry, about five years ago. Paityn's in her last year of high school this year and I thought it would be fun to showcase her ballet talents for her senior pictures in a fun downtown Phoenix session.

Paityn is the oldest dancer at the studio and is a role model in the truest sense of the word to all the dancers -- from the cute little tutued tots to the young teens who strive to dance like her and mimic her strong work ethic.

She's often quiet but bouts of fun and silliness spontaneously erupt when she's at rehearsals or out and about at photo shoots. She has so much unfolding this year -- the lead role of Clara/Sugar Plum Fairy in Phoenix Youth Ballet Theatre's Nutcracker suite, college dance auditions, ballet competitions, and of course, keeping on top of school and dance classes.

It's going to be a bittersweet year at the studio as she performs in her final performances and makes decisions about where she'll pursue dance next year. But I know we're all so excited for her and will be cheering her on every step of the way. Merde, Paityn!
