The more senior sessions I photograph, the more I'm seeing an emerging pattern. Whenever I'm in the midst of a shoot, I think to myself, "This. This is my favorite location for senior photos." And it happens every time. Like this time when Boulder Creek senior Ally had her senior photo session in Downtown Phoenix.
But what I've realized is that these kids do a great job of recognizing the type of location they like and where their personality shines the brightest.
For Ally's session we went to the Orpheum Theater in Downtown Phoenix. This landmark was built in 1927 in Spanish Baroque architecture and originally was used for vaudeville acts. With rich colors, beautiful design, and twinkling golden lights from the marquee area, this spot complemented her outfit choices and her bright, fun personality. Her casual jeans, black sweater and fun spike heels were perfect. And when Ally changed into her burgundy velvet dress, I was SO excited. I couldn't have chosen anything better. It was a great choice for this venue.
Then, as sunset drew near, we changed pace and headed out to the street and then to the top of a nearby parking garage. Ally wanted a few in her cheer outfit, so away we went. I LOVE how this session turned out.
Ally, I hope you have fun memories of your photo session. Wishing you all the best as your graduate!
